This is my personal blog and up to now I haven't even thought of privatizing my blog. In blogosphere, every blogger gets to blog in their unique style. So if you don't like my blog OR aren't happy with the style I talk, why choose to leave useless comments instead of leaving my blog? Enjoy reading anyway!
If you are about to ask me how's my training going so far, alright, I'll tell you now.
Actually I am so wanting to bring my camera and take lot of pictures, post them onto my blog. Our restaurant has the open kitchen concept. More like a Show Kitchen, the chefs cook in public whereby guests can witness their foods being cooked. Ah, and food runners, which I'm currently being assigned as, benefit from this.
Because, we get to watch the chefs cooking for whole day! The worst part is, we have no chance to taste the foods. (Like, durh~)
So for the past few days, I had been serving foods to guests, and delivering foods to other restaurant as well. Why so, you may ask. YTL owns a chain of restaurants in Feast Village @ Starhill Gallery. So almost all restaurants are partners. Luk Yu Tea House's chefs are transferred to Chinese Kitchen in our restaurant. I'm not sure why, maybe there aren't enough stoves over there?
There are 4 kitchens, each one specializing in their specialities: - Japanese - Western Grill - Chinese - Italian
I am currently being assigned to Chinese Kitchen section. Probably because I read Chinese and better at recognizing Chinese dishes than my Malay colleagues. As I mentioned, the chefs from Luk Yu are transferred to our kitchen. So, guess what, 80% of the foods coming out from Chinese Kitchen are to be delivered to Luk Yu!
Imagine I walk to Luk Yu, carrying a tray with foods, come back, and repeat the same task all over for 5 hours consecutively. Yes, I should probably tell you that I have lunch break at 4.30pm daily.
Hmm, it's okay. We're learning, to be tough while going through hell.
This is Lady GaGa's latest single, Paparazzi. I think it's pretty unique and creative. Lady GaGa somehow still managed to define her own style. Good job! =)
Given a week of holidays, but I got not much plans about it. Maybe, I should update my blog more often? I still got a long list of stuffs to blog about, like....
- my Cooking & Pastry class in Term 4 - Malaysian Studies project behind-the-scenes - Sunway Lagoon trip (it happened 2 days ago!) - my daughter, UNI. (okay, it's just a dog, not much about it) - F&B serving class (Jyh Ling, Eu Chern and Joanna get to see their pretty faces in my blog, though they don't blog about it in their blogs, but it's fine, *moody*) - some random topics maybe
And not forgetting to remind you that I'm accepted to Shook! Starhill Gallery for my 2nd internship. I think there's a need to announce here officially cause people just can't get tired of asking me the same question. LOL!
Have you realized, haze is attacking our city again.
Have you realized, the weather is getting hotter, that you cannot deny the fact of global warming effect.
Anyway, I'll talk about this matter soon. As soon as I get over with my Final Assessment. Starting from this Saturday(I really hate exams to be arranged on Saturdays), Business English and Basic FRENCH.
But it hurts when you're talking about friendship. A friend who once was very close to you, shared secrets with you. Both of you laughed at silly matters, rubbed each others back and teased each other.
The good times faded. And left with memories only. Nothing can be done to rekindle the relationship. When both of you meet, maybe you will exchange an eye contact, smile, and back to silence again.
Oh lamb oh lamb, you made me spent so much time cutting your rack... Your spine bone structure spun my head right round right round (when you go down when you go down down...)
So after all of us struggled so much with the lamb (pity the lamb la), finally this is how it looked like after marinating it.
No, the strings are not meant for SM purpose.
I'm searing you now...
Voilà! Now it's ready to be served...
Our chef demonstrated on how to cook the mushroom omelet.
The Sample:
with tomato coulis on top...
And finally, the Mango Bavarois! YUMMYLICIOUS!
This is what we call, the mass catering...
Random pictures again.
Thanks to Metamorphosis and my feminine friend for sponsoring the free mask.
Shit happens. Life is bittersweet, you complain, yet you still move your footsteps ahead.
Life is like that isn't it?
I crave for power, glamour. I desperate for attention. I hate to be the second man, the runner-up. It feels like you've come a long way to conquer the Mount Everest, the peak is not far from you, but you're forced to make a U-turn due to shortage in oxygen supply.
You know how it feels?
My mum tells me to re-evaluate my self pride. She has a lot of experience to share, she has pieces of advice to deliver to me. Happy Mothers Day, Mum.
